Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (July 2007)—Urban X-pressions is celebrating fourteen years on television with a Fashion Show. In an effort to increase self-esteem in our youth, hit urban video show Urban X-pressions and the Pennsylvania Black Caucus will host a free Fashion Show on Sunday, August 12, 2007 at the First District Plaza. The All about the Teens “Dressing for Success and a Healthy Attitude” The Fashion Show is a day of fashion, education, entertainment and empowerment of our youth by engaging their political and community leaders in order to build self-esteem and opportunities through fashion. It is our mission to improve the attitudes of our youth and build their self-esteem by encouraging them to take pride in their appearance, health and their communities. The Fashion Show will be held August 12, 2007at the First District Plaza on 3801 Market Street in Philadelphia at 2:30pm where admission is free! Keith “from up the Block” and Shelly Shell will serve as the show hosts and live performances from Showstoppers, Jolanda’s Jam Studio and Youngest In Charge and Aikan Entertainment. The Fashion show will be aired on Urban X-pressions Video Show that can currently be seen every Wednesday at 12:30am and Saturday at 2:00pm, WYBE TV Channel 35. Rep Thaddeus Kirkland said more than 600 participants attended the 2006 teen fashion show. The PLBC is hoping that even more teens, families and the entire community will attend this year’s event, the doors open at 2:30 p.m. and everyone in the community is invited to this free event.
