Stand Up at the Movies was coined as The Ultimate Comedy Experience at The Studio Movie Grill at 69th Street, and it sure delivered! Are you confused and want to know what’s Stand Up At The Movies? It’s LIVE Entertainment Inside a Movie Theatre, On Stage, and On the Big Screen, at the same time. 

Ruffin Vision Network’s, Keith from up da block, Andrea “Cakes” Darden, and the team created a star-studded affair, red carpet interviews by Trizzy the Mouth, music by Fatin Dantzler of Kindred The Family Soul, Comedy, and a performance by Peedi Crakk. The pre-show began with Stand Up Comedy featuring Comedy Jawn All Stars, RedSnaperrr, and a special appearance by Mike Jerrick of Good Day Philadelphia on Fox 29.

As you entered the movie theater, the enormous poster on the wall featured an animated creative masterpiece of Keith from up da block with artwork by Artist/Illustrator Justin Richburg. Charlamagne Tha God said he is “The Best Visual Artist of This Generation”  He also introduced his show “All Over Episode 1.” The show opened up with a performance by Two Nitas and A Nae. A mini-movie “Shea Butter and Coco Girl” by Tata Sherise and Drizz with the beauty. The comedy lineup included Jay Simpson, and the headliner was Shawn Jackson. 

As we celebrate our 30th year of Urban X-pressions, Keith wanted to surprise his guests with a Big Screen Reunion and air a Mini-Episode of Urban X-pressions featuring shout-outs from the audience, along with shout-outs from Dee Jay 007 and a surprise shout-out to Keith from up da block from Mike Jerrick.  Urban X-pressions fam included the Executive Producer, Shelly Shell Williams, Supreem Da Rezarekta, Monie on Da Scene, and Roc Star P; the visuals, as always, filmed, directed, and edited by Howard Gilliam, Jr. The visual engineer for the evening was Zim Productions.

Nine years ago, I produced a trailer for Stand Up at The Movies at The Pearl Theater and gave a six-year-old actor a cameo. It was one of his first times on a movie screen. Well

that young man is now a writer for The Kids Tonight Show on NBC.com and can currently be seen in acting roles with WAYNE BRADY on That Damn Michael Che Show and Power: Raising Canaan episode 1, and he ( also just wrapped a new movie with Clifton Powell) Mykey Cooper came back to Stand up At the Movies to let everyone know why what WE do is important, said Keith From up da lock www.StandUpAtTheMovies.com
